SYDNEY, Australia (Reuters) -- Two girls aged three and four are recovering from the effects of cannabis in an Australian hospital after carers gave them food laced with the drug and let them inhale its fumes.
Police in the state of South Australia said they had arrested a man aged 22 and a woman aged 33 and charged them with committing acts to endanger life after the girls were rushed to hospital soon after midnight.
"The girls were given it in food and inhaled it through smoke puffed in their direction," a police spokeswoman told Reuters Friday.
Police said the two adults were not related to the children but were caring for them at the time. Police are questioning the girls' father.
Another police spokesman described the case as sickening and said cannabis affects children more severely than adults.
The girls were put in intensive care before being moved to a general ward, where their condition was being watched.
I think those kids' father should be locked up if he had a hint this might happen, and the smokers, well, if if I'm for legalization, LACING FOOD of kids with it?
This calls for the horny blind ape of punishment on them
Well, this wasn't the kids parents, but there babysitters.
However, this is why babysitter liscences would also be a good idea.
Problem with a liscense to parent is, how would you enforce it? Forced seizure of children by the state? Force infertilization until you pass the liscence? Those both have problems with current technology levels
Somehow it reminded me of this photo that a friend sent me.
aerius: I'll vote for you if you sleep with me. Lusankya: Deal!
Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either.
