Bill O'Reilly used to be entertaining. Now he has gotten offensive. Lately he's been spouting a line about Judaeo-Christian "philosophy," Jesus was a philosopher, the ten commandments are philosophical and not religious in nature, etc. That is getting more and more annoying (although it was funny to watch the historian just tell him he was just plain wrong when it came to the Founding Fathers). A seventeen year old who viscously beats and sodomizes a kid with a broom stick should go to a juvenile facility so his life isn't ruined, but a twelve year old who committed murder should be thrown away. Then tonight he finally came out and said homosexuality is a choice and compared a gay man to a heterosexual bachelor.

What gets me is he sounds so much more rational and intelligent than most conservative spokesmen. He isn't a fundamentalist and he's not as shrill and idiotic as King Dittohead. As a consequence, he appeals to a much wider audience. Is it just me or are the conservatives getting stronger and stronger?

I think the religious conservatives are. I'm starting to reach the breaking point with religion, to where I really don't want to live in the South anymore.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

Hehe, California is pretty nice except for massive unemployement, sky high living costs and bad traffic. :)

I dont watch Reilly, but from what I understand or have glimpsed he is just a bully. What guys like him who defend the 10 commandments in schools or the phrase "under God" in the pledge is:

If it is not an endorsement of religion, or not religious in nature. THEN WHY DO YOU CARE IF IT IS REMOVED?

SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!!! and hanging up on NPR when you don't get your way is rational?
"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

He's always been shrill. Watch the .wmv with Jeremy Glick, which is available on the net, and then see how he distorts what happened in that interview in the NPR interview- the one where he hung up because he's a cry-baby whiny shit who can't stand being criticised- hence why he goes to pieces everywhere but his own show- where he has the power.

(In his intervew with Jeremy Glick, an antiwar activist whoose father died in the World Trade Centre, O'Reilly repeatedly told him to shut up when he made the obvious point that it was Bush's father who was responsible for the 'thousands of trained killers' who his son mentioned, how he didn't want to further brutalize the Afghan people, etc. O'Reilly repeatedly cut him off, and had the fucking *audacity* to use his own father against him, not to mention his mother, saying that "they wouldn't approve" etc etc as if O'Reilly new this guy's parents better than he fucking did. For his part Glick made clear he was his father's son in terms of his views, and remained calm and composed throughout the entire interview- which I think enraged O'Reilly further. Glick repeatedly attempted to finish his own sentences, with O'Reilly just telling him to shut up and that "he didn't want to talk politics". Well, what the fuck? That's why *he* invited Glick on the show. He then ordered someone off camera to cut off his mike, and threatened him with physical violence after the interview was over.)

This doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I always thought of O'Reilly as a dick, and he's never done anything to prove otherwise. However from what I see, all conservatives share these traits. By that I mean none of them really hold what would be considered an intelligent debate on their shows or anyone elses. When given the chance to speak, they do the best they can to get their point across. Usually, they go uninterrupted as the person on the other side of the discussion waits and listens. The problem lies in the next half of the segment. The opposing side begins talking, and almost immediately the conservative, right-winger, Republican, Loud-mouthed Dick-weed or whichever you want to call him/her jumps in and cuts that person off without apology. This always happens, and it unfolds the exact same way. By the end of the show, you don't know what the other person was trying to say since they never got a chance to say it. Whether it's Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Joe Scarborough, Michael Savage, Ann Coulter, or G. Gordon Liddy(all of whom show up on TV often enough to voice their "opinions", and ironically believe in a "Liberal media bias" ) People like that only go on thinking they're right because they never stop talking long enough to realize how wrong they are.
