Heard about that on the news, of course, it got less time than did sports, but anyway, it goes to show how messed up shit is. If they kill the guy though, it really won't prove much. Let his ass rot in jail, its cheaper that way.

Too bad California doesn't have the death penalty.
Anyway this guy is a serious sicko. They said today on the radio that veteran officers were breaking down because the scene was so traumatic.

Wow, this is odd; well a new spin on mass home murders. Really sad story. And Fremen a .22 to the head is cheaper and he would suffer.

The last time we executed someone with a .22 to the head was..? Its obvious the guy really doesn't care about the sanctity of human life, so we don't need to look at his interests in this, but lets look at the prospective benefits of not shooting him in the head. If he is killed, it shows the public that killing to stop killing is right. Not only is this hypocritical, it doesn't work, or at least, I have yet to see violent crime rates shoot down in places with the death penalty.Captain Lennox wrote:Wow, this is odd; well a new spin on mass home murders. Dyer said it appears that Wesson is the father and grandfather of two of the youngest victims. He believes Wesson had children with two of his daughters
Sick fuckin' bastard, and these people who supposedly knew him didn't wonder how this guy's daughters were getting pregnant?

I just want to say that from my sources in Fresno, the whole "ritual killing" angle is getting really overplayed by the media, and that this was probably just a crazy guy and not a religious nut.

Yeah, sure. Sorry to burst your bubble, but people who kill their own children are almost always religious nuts. Only a very powerful ideology can overcome the natural instinct to protect your own children (or in most cases, pervert it; the average religious nut who kills his or her own children usually does it because he or she believes the children are better off in the afterlife).CaptainChewbacca wrote:I just want to say that from my sources in Fresno, the whole "ritual killing" angle is getting really overplayed by the media, and that this was probably just a crazy guy and not a religious nut.
PS. And it should be pointed out that the line between hallucination (seeing things that nobody else can see or measure in any way) and religious belief (believing in things that nobody at all can see or measure in any way) is rather thin.

Death Penalty execution is way too slow though. For crimes like these it should be swift...I mean does this man even deserve a trial? well, if he had been shot in the line of apprehending him, that would be one thing. but once he's been taken hold of by the police, and is in custody, then he deserves a trial, however trivial, regardless of the actual crime. otherwise our justice system would be rather pointless to have.Kamakazie Sith wrote: Death Penalty execution is way too slow though. Indeed, however, that trial should be about an hour long when such evidence exists.Darth_Zod wrote:well, if he had been shot in the line of apprehending him, that would be one thing. but once he's been taken hold of by the police, and is in custody, then he deserves a trial, however trivial, regardless of the actual crime. otherwise our justice system would be rather pointless to have.Kamakazie Sith wrote: Death Penalty execution is way too slow though. Having Ah-nuld be the governor of a state without the death penalty would be more perverse than ... Ah-nuld being the governor of a state, I guess.Joe wrote:And alas, you do. Shame on me for not doing my homework. We don't? I thought we did? Shows how much I pay attention.

Everyone deserves a trial, no matter how obviously guilty. It's his right as a citizen, unless he choses to plead guilty and waive that right--I doubt he would, though, unless prosecutors are willing to exchange life without parole for a plea. At any rate, it will be a quick trial, as these things go, and the jury will take about ten minutes to deliberate.Kamakazie Sith wrote:Death Penalty execution is way too slow though. Absolutely. Furthermore, he should not be executed. If a government expects its it citizens not to kill eachother, then the government shouldn't kill the citizens.Kamakazie Sith wrote:Death Penalty execution is way too slow though. Mental hospitals if they aren't sane, prisons if they are. Either way, they are going to be suffering. Both are shitholes of existence, if you aren't rich of course.

why should we, the taxpayer, become moral hypocrites by killing a man to prove that his killings were wrong?
