I take it you thought they ment outdoor tanning. This only applies to indoor tanning. Then again you might not have. Well whatever.

okay. . .i see the reason behind banning teens from tanning salons, but tanning in general would be rather over the top imo. if someone really wants to get a tan badly enough they'll do it the old fashioned way. what're they gonna do after all, make it illegal for someone to go out in the daytime?

I believe that the article only says that teenagers are banned from tanning salons, and I can understand why they want it, but I can imagine that it's just going to add "thrill" to the experience while doing little to prevent teenagers from going to the places.

Tanning is a dangerous self destructive practice, so I see the logic in regulating it and keeping it away from minors just like with alcohol, smoking, etc. It does however seem like a waste considering how easy it is for one to go outside into their backyard and tan the old fashioned way for free.

I'm half-Mexican and quite dark-complected, but I still avoid excess sun where possible. The Hollister-girl tanning-bed-tan fetish is dangerous indeed, and especially with fair, Caucasian people.

In order to ban a teen from tanning in the sun you'd have to lock them up inside or make them dress like Iranian women. Obviously it could not have meant all tanning.
