Link: Bush Tells Conservative Religious Editors He's Cultural 'Change Agent'
George W. Bush wrote:"My job is to make sure that, as president, people understand that in this country you can worship any way you choose," he said. "You can be a patriot if you don't believe in the Almighty."
Some of you may recall that his father stated just the opposite when he was running for president back in '87.

Like I said, I wish I could believe him, but his policies speak louder than his words...

You know he doesn't honestly believe that. I know a lot of politicians don't believe their own words, but most would agree with their own policies at their most basic principles. This isn't the case, Daddy Shrub's slur and the current President's track record speak louder than this little rhetorical blurb.

Absolute fucking bullshit. I bet he's even explicitly stated otherwise during this term.

Probably, but what do you expect from a politican. Give me a politican that's uncompromising, refuses to change his ways to sway some votes, adopts something he doesn't believe in or can't be convinced of, etc. Then there's a candidate. A candidate that'll lose, but a candidate nevertheless.

From the "W" in his middle initial.

Here in the states, there are several accents in which it sounds like "dubya" instead of "doubleyou". Including Dubya's own accent.

G.W, Bush wrote:"I think what we're dealing with are people -- extreme, radical people -- who've got a deep desire to spread an ideology that is anti-women, anti-free thought, anti-art and science, you know, that couch their language in religious terms.
Coming from him this quote is so bitterly ironic as to make any attempts at satire redundant

"You didn't make the team but you can still be the water boy," is how that sounds.

"You can still be a patriot Have a cookie, and ignore those almond flavored pellets."
