The problems of the Kerry Campaign

I think Lewrockwell does a perfect job documenting/discussing the problems of the Kerry campaign. My opinion pretty much mirrors his, what do you think?

Iraq: Bush is being hurt very badly here. Kerry needs to shift to a position that Americans can understand: leave Iraq.

Civil liberties: Bush has shredded them, and Kerry can promise to do something about it. This would resonate well with all voters.

Free trade: Kerry should come out in favor of trade with all and against corporate welfare at the same time, thereby pleasing the merchant class and the new entrepreneurial class, and tapping into a populist message at the same time.

I agree with this segment especially. That is exactly what Kerry needs to be using.

But, I don't agree with this guy that America is in as good shape as he says:

He tells us that he will put Americans back to work with good paying jobs. He will bring good education to all our children and raise the salaries of America's teachers. He will give all Americans access to quality health care at affordable prices.

Even though these statements are "playing to his Democratic base," I do believe there are swing voters that do care about these things. As a lot of people in midwestern swing states are unemployed, teacher's salaries are rediculously low, and do need to be raised, and that a lot of senior citizens, especially the ones I've noticed in Florida (perhaps the most important "swing state"), do car about health care, and could possibly be swayed by this.

But, I believe overall this Lew Rockwell guy is right, Kerry needs to be focusing on the things that he suggested, to really differentiate himself from Bush.
