Devolution is quite as natural as evolution, and may be just as pleasing, or even a good deal more pleasing, to God. If the average man is made in God's image, then a man such as Beethoven or Aristotle is plainly superior to God, and so God may be jealous of him, and eager to see his superiority perish with his bodily frame.

Pray tell what fucking point that is?BlkbrryTheGreat wrote:In other news, Ann Coulter actually makes a legitmate point, for once.
All I see is a lot of shit about how horrid abortion is, how Edwards is scum for being a lawyer and how Micheal Moore is the devil worshiping muscle of the Kerry campaign.
I'm sorry, but there doesnt seem to be much between Jack and Shit in what that stupid cunt has to say.

I think her point has to do with Edwards' medical malpractice suits being based on bad medical science, which would be par for the course in medical malpractice so it wouldn't come as a huge shock to me if true (not that I trust Coulter to report facts accurately).
How this makes Edwards worse than Cheney is a huge mystery.

I think the key words are "now-disproved" which shed a bit on Coulters crap. He worked with what was known then, and it's since been shown to be wrong...which you must admit is better than using something after it's been shown to be wrong rather than before...Darth Wong wrote:I think her point has to do with Edwards' medical malpractice suits being based on bad medical science, which would be par for the course in medical malpractice so it wouldn't come as a huge shock to me if true (not that I trust Coulter to report facts accurately).

I wonder if they really want to get into the clairvoyance debate with Iraq going on?

Her point is that "My father was a millworker" is not a legitimate campaign point, and that the Kerry campaign should focus on the issues rather than parade their personal histories.

Did you make it all the way down the page?Alyrium Denryle wrote:Her point is that "My father was a millworker" is not a legitimate campaign point, and that the Kerry campaign should focus on the issues rather than parade their personal histories.
The fact that the right has brought up how they're both stinking fucking rich and so cant relate to the "common man" etc is I think what the millworker thing is meant to counter. They may have money, but both have actually worked to get it and both come from far more humble origins than George W. "Never Did A Real Day's Work In His Entire Fucking Life" Bush. The fact that they've actually had to work to get what they have now is relevant, it shows that they have self reliance and good sense. What they have done and what they have overcome and proven capable of is entirely relevant to whether they are fit to hold office.
Plus as you get down the page, the dippy cunt starts off down her line of "he's a lawyer so he's evil pond scum". That point you've found doesnt last much past paragraph three...

I know she makes lots of points, but the question was, what was the legitimate point that she has apparently made this time?Alyrium Denryle wrote:I am not defending her point, just saying what I thught it was when you asked, so how about you get your hands off my throat.

Wait a second... how can Ann Coulter talk shit about Edwards being an attorney? She was a scumbag attorney too, before she became a political pundit!

Begging your pardon, Kelvin, but marrying rich people is not "working for your money."
In regards to the article, medical malpractice suits are retarded, and they massively drive up health-care costs in the United States. There are times when legitimate medical negligence does hurt patients, and in those cases I agree that there should be some sort of pay-out just to make things right and assist victims in their recovery, however, multi-million dollar pain-and-suffering/mental anguish claims are bullshit, and the cases do nothing when there was no actual malpractice involved. This is the first time I've seen what Edwards specialized in (the cerebral palsy cases), and if that's true then he's a certified scum-bag.
If the part about the "channeling" claims are true, then he's a grade-A doofus, too. Has anyone seen the source of that claim? Did he ACTUALLY say that?

I've seen it before, the man is famous for his lawsuits against insurance companies. That fucker is one of the main reasons why doctors are moving out of some states. He's a piece of shit, like you said, certified.

I don't know about the channeling, but it seems fairly common for the lawyer to put him or herself in the place of the victim to make their case, so it wouldn't suprise me. The history of him trotting out his cases to win his way into office has been quit well followed over the last several years, and is just a google away.
And personally, I think Coulter makes a damn good point that if he could put himself in the place of an unborn child in the case of cerebral palsy then he should be able to do the same for abortion.

Potentially, although her claim is fairly specific, and I don't think that the crazy psychic would ever think of trying to testify at a trial, since "psychic" testimony has been so firmly disallowed with the help of some high-profile historical cases like teh Salem Witch burnings. Also, it doesn't seem like the kind of thing someone could lie about, and it DOES seem like something that a crazy trial lawyer would do during his closing statement.Iceberg wrote:Sounds to me like she's trying to generate skepticism based on the similarity between his name and that of TV psychic John Edward.Master of Ossus wrote:If the part about the "channeling" claims are true, then he's a grade-A doofus, too.
