Election '04: Australia flips a coin.

Does anyone here have any ideas on who they're voting for?

An accurate assessment of how most Australian's figure it out

I definitely know who I'm not voting for. I'll get back to you after I figure out who is the least evil of the bunch.

Thing don't look that bright when the names that immediately comes to mind is "Little Johnny" and the "Other Guy". Hopefully, the pollies will prove cooperative and give us something decent to base our votes on.

Hmmmm....given that I'm currently overseas, even though I'll be returning next year, am I legally required to vote in this farce?

Like always, I'm adding a box and voting for my girl. :)

I'd love to hear from anyone who's going to vote Liberal. I mean, they must exist, they always win. I've never met anyone who admits to voting for the environment/health system/foreign policy etc etc destroying guys.

Keep in mind that even the major parties win via preferances(Preferance trading between parties is a big deal in Australian politics). So its a matter of were you put your preferances.

I think old people do.

I have yet to meet an old person who likes the Greens.

Hah, I wish. Born in Gosford, raised in Brisbane. Over here on scholarship.

I guess I'll probably be voting Liberal, if I vote at all, more for the "Devil I know" factor if anything. None of the canditates really appeal to me, but from last I heard, I could probably support the Liberal's economic policies more than I could the ALP's.

We do. That's only a list of the ones with established websites.

OK, based on that list I'm tempted to vote HEMP.

Oh good, an election. A chance for Australia's finest to strut their stuff to see who gets to lead this great country [/sarcasm.]

Me I'll probably vote Labour. Since Liberal and Labour are almost identical, and everything else is basically a donkey vote, I may as well vote for the guy with less annoying eyebrows (and a somewhat less brown-nose attitude towards Americans and in particular our ruler by proxy George Dubya Bush).[/quote]

As to myself I'll probably vote Liberal, though I really want to vote Democrat. If it wasn't for Natasha Stott-Despoja screwing up that party through her ambitions then they would probably retain a shred of credibility in my eyes.
