Murder inquiry after man's death (Edinburgh)

Disturbance reports

Lothian and Borders Police have been investigating a possible link with reports of a disturbance involving several men at about 0330 in the Morrison Street area.

A police spokeswoman said: "The victim suffered serious head injuries and has died as a result.

"We are very anxious to trace any witnesses who saw a disturbance in the early hours of this morning.

"Police are treating this death as suspicious and we would appeal for anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious around the Western Approach Road or Morrison Street area in the early hours of this morning to come forward."

I wouldnt post this normally, but Morrison street is literally on the corner of my road. I can hardly believe that someone got killed within 3 minutes walk of my flat last night.

Yay, it's now been revealed that the dead fellow is a student at Napier, same as me.

Nasty. I had a first year die in a traffic accident last week at my uni.

I wonder if napier will have the highest student homicide rate this year to go along with its highest student drop out rate.

As far as I know, Salford has the highest student homicide rate in the UK, though I may be wrong now.

Napier likes to do it's best in these things...possibly a few excessively expensive contracts taken out on students...*remembers* Must pay my tuition fees soon...
