My mistake then. I do know Chase was drawing in that style at the beginning of his career in the 1930s and did an anti-Hitler/Stalin piece a little bit along those same lines for the old New Orleans Item following the Pact. His own distinctive style gradually emerged through the 1940s.

Indeed, I have often made the same mistake with other cartoonists of the period.
