A Jedi stuck in Battlefield 1942...
Warning: You need to be familar with both "Battlefield 1942" and "Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy" to put forth any viable input.

So you're innocently playing "Battlefield 1942", and get killed by a passing plane/tank/jeep/sniper/whatever. Upon respawn you are suddenly the Jedi character from "Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy". Rules:
-The Battlefield game is running a "Capture the Flag" server.
-Normal Battlefield server. No cheats, no mods. Perfectly fair. (wouldn't that be nice?)
-Teams are balanced.
-The Battlefield map in question is "El Alamein". It's big, it's open, it's got lots of vehicles.
-As the Jedi character you are unmodded and in "multiplayer mode" (ie: Dark or Light powers but not both). You get whatever powers you typically use in JKJA multiplayer with the exception of modified or cheat ones.
-Be logical in comparisons of powers and capabilities. For example the Jedi ain't gonna Force speed across the entire map. Take Force power limitations into consideration. Planes and even jeeps should be able to keep up or beat Force speed. And you can take control of vehicles in JKJA, so taking control of BF1942 vehicles will be virtually the same and even familar. Lightsaber can block bullets and small arms fire, force push would work against grenades...tank shells? hmm...toughie there. And so forth.
So, how well do you use the Force to assist your team mates in capturing the enemy flag as many times as possible? Do you kick ass as a one man army, or use your abilities to assist your team mates well, or become the trophy the enemy team decides to single out for shooting practice?
Thought about this scenario at work...I though it would be frigging hilarious...as well as cool.

Assuming so, the Jedi would still be limited by range. Same range as pulling things in the JKJA engine. The flag appears to only be moveable when actually "grabbed" by a unit. To be on the "realistic as possible", I'd suggest the Jedi can only move things that are independently capable of being moved. For example a flag carrier could be Force pulled towards the Jedi and killed via the lightsaber.Rogue 9 wrote:Couldn't the Jedi Force call the flag to him?
Reminds me, weapons wise the Jedi gets only his lightsaber from JKJA, but we will allow use of all personnel BF1942 weapons. Only ones dropped intentionally or released from a killed unit though. So the Jedi can kill a sniper and get his rifle, or a engineer and get his bombs, etc.

Yes and no. Jedi limitations in the JKJA engine apply in the BF1942 engine as well. You can't pull a storm trooper from long ranges, even if you can see him. In fact you have to get fairly close to do so. Though it would make sense the Jedi can still pull multiple enemy units(humans, not tanks and crap).

Yes, they actually do. However, I'd have to say that because the Jedi is the extra element in the BF1942 engine, pulling weapons out of the soldier's hands shouldn't work. A soldier in BF can switch weapons if one is already dropped from another dead player, but actually not having a weapon would violate the game's rules. Doesn't stop the Jedi from strangling the soldier or other method of dispatching the unit and stealing his weapon after. Just for further clarifications sake, when comparing and determining what we can reasonably say can and cannot happen, we should be looking for what minimizes the violations of game rules for both games. My last example being a good one, where a soldier cannot actually lose his weapon unless killed, therefore Force pull shouldn't be able to remove it. It would of course move the soldier himself though. Force grip would also be effective in lifting a solder into the air and damaging health since a solider of course can move and fly in the direction via blasts, etc and losing health of course is also part of the game.
Jedi gets dive bombed by sucidal stuka, you can push the hundreds of stuka bullets, but the 100 pound bomb along with the stuka itself is going to take you out or just an Allied Fighter, or a sniper shot from behind

An interesting thing of note: In BF:1942 very LITTLE amount of impact will do a tremendous amount of damage. Getting hit by a jeep moving even at medium speed can kill if the jeep smacks you into a wall (in other words, the wall impact kills, not the jeep), and players incur hefty damage after falling no more than two metres.
This should mean that a Jedi only has to force-push players into walls, or grip-and-drop them from a few metres (easily done with a flick of the wrist in JKJA) to kill them instantly.
