We're getting to a point where such connections aren't the limiting factor but the hardware in the individual machines are such as saving stuff to HDDs.

More speed is good however. Like memory, you can never have enough.

*salivates* un-fucking real. i'd need dozens of high capacity hard drives in order to keep up with the download speed of that thing at the rate i'd be downloading stuff. I'd never get off the internet.

That's probably why they decided to do it. In fact, I wouldn't be suprised if every advance in Internet speed since the beginning has been motivated by the desire for faster porn.

Only ot's not demand ofr porn that drives it, it's the supply. Porn distributors want high speed connections for all, because that way they can distribute their wares via high quality streaming and paid download and they can do it in bulk.

The pornmongers are streets ahead of anyone else in terms of digital distributions because they don't have the strong pre-existing distribution mechanisms to cling on to like record companies, movie publishers or TV networks.

That's why they're already on top of 3G, set to distribute Naked News to mobile phones across Holland.

If bandwidth like this was easily available, it would certainly be a boon to hard drive manufacturers.

that's where the new up and coming ultra-wide band technology comes into play. far more bandwidth than any current broadband available.

Yeah, we're probably hooked up, they just has to install it so we can use it. But the assholes won't do that
