Ninja Gaiden-I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place
I am stuck on the second level of Ninja Gaiden (the Hayabuska village), namely the mini-boss/boss on the bridge. I've tried all sorts of techniques to defeat him; bow and arrow, the inferno spell, wall jump attacks, among others, yet he still wont die. I can whittle down about 1/4 of his health, and then I get P\/\/ned. And those stupid sorcerer's swarming around him dont help either. Any advice?

The way I did it was to kill all the mages first. I think there's around 12 of them. Try to avoid the horseman as well as you can while doing this.
Once the mages are gone run to the opposite side of the bridge from the horseman.
Charge up your sword with the Y attack and wait for the horseman to get close, then release the attack.
You should end up behind the horse and can get in a few attacks. Just keep repeating that.

Well two ways.
Take out the mages...very easy, dodge bolts. And slash as you run up to them, they go all disappearo and attack, which block and kill...with multiples it can get a little antsy, but that's what potions are for.
Or
Take fight to dog breath and bow and arrow him in the very beginning. if done righ, you'll do at least 35-40% life off of him and if you avoid the cheapo mages you can kill him.
Personally even on very hard I only kill mages when a I need life.
Also magic makes you invincible with it's start up just so you know.

Focus on the mages first but also give a few shots on the main guy just to bring him down a little bit, then after you beat the mages go all out as best you can on the horseman. It may take a few times but thats the way I did it.
Just to inform you, if you think this boss is hard, you havent seen anything yet. You'll be going into spasms of insanity when you fight the level 7 boss. Ninja Gaiden is an AWSOME game, but it can be very difficult and annoying especially if you get careless and forget to stock up on things like health elixers or if you forget to make use of a save point.
