Maybe you could use as a model the "Battlestar Galactica" movie. The flying model was pretty much like the one in "Terminus" PC game - thrusters for lateral maneuvers, the ability to turn your ship and fire at an incoming missile while moving in the oposite direction, use of missiles and nuke bombs for capship engagements.

My suggestion would be to place the player at the helm of a ship, destroyer or larger, and set them free in a Battlecrusier style enviornment to run around, perhaps complete missions, kill baddies, but add combat both inside and outside of the ship on the infantry level.

It's been done before as Galactic Conquest for BF1942. I think BC also has space infantry combat. Besides, although Battlecruiser is fun, I'm aiming for more semi-hard sci-fi, and multiplayer.

Anything worth the cost of a missile, which can be located on the battlefield, will be shot at with missiles. If the US military is involved, then things, which are not worth the cost if a missile will also be shot at with missiles. -Sea Skimmer
