New Forgotten Realms sourcebook announced

Post by Rogue 9 »

Ancient Empires

The main features of the book include:
- A chapter on feats and prestige classes themed around ancient empires.
- A chapter on monsters you often find in or around ancient ruins (which, coincidentally enough, is pretty much the PGtoF's cut monster chapter, with a few new additons).
- A chapter each on half-a-dozen key eras/regions/groupings of fallen empires.
- A number of ready-to-play adventure sites themed around the ruins.
- A brief look at some of the more important "dead" gods, and (at last) a mechanical explanation for why some still have clerics running around.
- A map of Faerun as it appeared in -676 DR, 2000 years ago."

Lookin' good from where I sit. I suspect that Nitram and Alyrium will want to know this. My source is the message boards of Sean Reynolds, a major FR designer. I'll go confirm with the WotC site now and see what else I can find out.

Is Sean writing it?

Or is Bruce Cordell or one of the other FR writers?

Yeah, Nitram, thought you'd like it.

The guy who posted it at Sean's says his source is Richard Baker on the WotC forums.

It's deffo the next FR release. Rich Baker confirmed it on the WOTC forums, and the realms mailing list has a comment from George Krashos saying that he and Eric Boyd did the continuity work on it.

Cool, and I have stuff planned involving there ruins next year in my campaign(s). (Technically it's one campaign, just the second group doesn't know they are in it....)

Now this is how to do products.

First Unapproachable East, then Serpent Kingdoms (I like it btw), Shining South is a coming, followed by Ancient Empires...

'sniff', They are so covering my wish list.

Now where's my Age of Thunder/Creater Races book?
I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.

It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.
