Help correcting Win.ini file

Post by 2000AD »

Due to my brother being stupid and going to crap porn sites my Win.ini file has been corrupted by a program called MSXMIDI.
I have since deleted the MSXMIDI files but i didn't want to go messing around with the Win.ini file without someone who knows about this stuff advising me.

This is the only reference to the program i could find in the win.ini file

Code: Select all

[windows]
load=
run=C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SERVICES\MSXMIDI.EXE
NullPort=None
MouseTrails=-7
device=EPSON Stylus COLOR 460,EPIJNL30,LPT1:
Do i only have to delete the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SERVICES\MSXMIDI.EXE bit to get ti back to normal?

Delete the entire "run=..." line.
