Please definte "stopping". Does getting up to go to grab a snack or going the dunny count? Or are we talking about no breaks longer than, say, 10 mins?

I went through at least 12 hour periods of Age of Empires: The Conquerors and boy did I had that a many times. It was the most addicted game I had back in 9th grade crashing over X-Wing Alliance.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

I don't really keep track, but on a few games (eg. Baldur's Gate 2, R6: Rogue Spear, Fallout 2, and a few others) I remember playing from morning till pass midnight, taking breaks only long enough to grab lunch/dinner/snack to eat in front of the computer.

although. . . .if you're talking about just videogames and general, as opposed to one single game, back when the SNES had came out me and a friend of mine managed to pull 24 hours straight with fighting games and RPGs thanks to a couple 24 packs of pepsi.

The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

I played a game Soldiers of Empires from morning to evening once. It's a massive strategy game of the eastern front of ww2. I played as the Soviets trying to hold off the german invasion. There were about 600 units given for each side. Since there was no save function available I kept playing for the whole day taking breaks. I lost at the end of the day though.
I'd say around the neighborhood of 7, 8 hours... 5th grade, when X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter first came out. Then there were the games of Starcraft deep during the night.
During the summer, I get to play from like 10 AM to 4 PM without interruptions (Eat while playing)
If I've just gotten something new, I'll sometimes stay up to 4 AM, on a school night.

I can't play for more than about six hours straight. After that much, I start getting hungry and my eyes start getting sore from the glare in the glasses and I have to go to the bathroom and things like that.
