A Versus Computer Game
I think that would be cool if they made a versus computer game. The Star Wars side has only movie units but from all sides. The Star Trek side would have all units that they ever used. There would also be historical campains for both sides. Gameplay would be similer to a combination between planetside and battlefield.

I like the whole class system and large scale thing in Planetside but I also dislike the only online thing and the neverending battles, sometimes I just want a short hour long battle that is quickly resolved.

It might sound cool, until you read the forum a bit more and find out that one side would be so totally dominant, if represented properly, that the other side may as well pack up and go home.
(OT: When I saw the post I thought you were talking about Versus, the Kitamura movie, that would make a cool game...)

I have an idea for a plot that could be used, but I need to write it out in storyboards. Plus it'll help when HL2 comes out, given its supposedly-advanced modability.

In equal numbers, it might work. If the feddies turn up their phasers to max level, they might be able to kill stormies in one hit, and the stormies would of course kill them in one hit. 100 stormies vs 100 (WELL TRAINED, which is rare) feddies would be a close match...
If the Feddies got transporters and shuttles and Birds of Prey while Star Wars got more land vehicles and fighters, it could be balanced.
In REALITY, Star Wars troops would outnumber the Feddies a million to one and would use bombers and wipe them out. But in a balanced game, maybe...

that is why I said that for the Star Wars side has only stuff from the movies and no EU.
and like Alyeska said they could balance it out more.
One other thing is that it should be both ground and space combat.

Ummm, what would they need to wipe out enemie troops that isn't already there in the movies? They have tie bombers to blow the shit out of enemy positions, they have stardestroyers to bdz feddie worlds, they have atat's to stomp feddie troops flat i mean wtf would they need to completely dominate federation troops that isn't right there in the movies?Adamskywalker007 wrote:It might sound cool, until you read the forum a bit more and find out that one side would be so totally dominant, if represented properly, that the other side may as well pack up and go home.

Well once I finish learning the DirectX SDK I have plans for writting a computer game where the player could fly with or against ships from the Star Trek, Star Wars and Babylon 5 universe. It will take time to write as I am not that good as a programmer, it took me days to write a simple program like Sketcher. When it is complete I hope to have good graphics, balanced (in game terms not canon) ships. Balance will be very important. Other starship games like Starfleet Command and Bridgecommander have bad balance which ruin the gameplay experience.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.
