Anyone know wtf HL 1 Source is? I saw it mentioned on the official DoD forums.

HL1 ported to the source engine~ but don't expect a conversion on the level of CS:S~

It's not a model-by-model, texture-by-texture conversion of HL1, just a simple port over to Source. You have the ragdolls and the cool water effects, but the textures are still cruddy.

Anyone that's played Tenebrae knows that advanced effects applied to simple models and levels can still look pretty goddamned cool...

Wow, I think they may actually be upgrading the models after all. Look at the crossbow in the Source shot Joe posted. It's obviously based on the HL crossbow, but it's more detailed than even the HD one.

Kind of sad, really. I've replayed HL1 so many times, it'll be a while before I want to play HL:Source.

Heh. I've played through HL1 in excess of twenty times, and I STILL love playing through it. Hell, seeing those pics makes me wanna play through it AGAIN.

Anybody know of any single-player mods for HL that adds content (more enemies, maybe, or more weapons?) to the game? Not an entirely new SP campaign, but just an enhanced version of the original game?

Only big news I know is that the makers of Sven Coop got the SDK early, I think, from Valve so they would have a working version of Sven out faster (coop for HL2 probably, but it's still better than nothing maybe)

Well, there is HL: Enhanced, but it hasn't been released yet. However, you can find some excellent "Super Definition" models on their forums, but you'll have to register to download most of them (they're usually post attachments). The Golden Model Showcase forum has the best of the best, and I suggest you download any models by Ambient.Impact.
