WinXP MDAC/Jet Problems

Alright... I have absolutely no idea what's wrong with my computer, but I'm fairly sure its somehow related to these two things. Right now, it's causing a fair amount of trouble, since a few programs I need to use are getting database errors. This started 2, maybe 3 days ago, and might be caused by me changing the settings unknowingly, since it was crashing at startup, so I had to use last good configuration to get it working.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled both various times, even once in safe mode. Nothing works, I've read various M$ knowledge articles, but nothing really helps. If anybody even has a remote idea of what's wrong, please post.

I'm running WinXP Professional version, with SP1 installed.
