Jpeg files are making Everything crash.

any one know what the hell is going on here? no matter what i do some (not all) jpegs cause whatever program i try to view them with crash.
Its damned annoying.

What operating system? Iif it's Windows, upgrade everything, run Ad-aware and Spybot S&D, run an antivirus program, and restart the computer. THe upgrade part is the major thing here, but you never know which of the Sacred Rituals of Cleansing might solve your problem.

Windows Xp.

I've done everything in my quest to fix this, nothing works. as i said, its only SOME jpegs

maybe it's the files themselves. Link to one of the ones that's causing trouble and I'll see what it does to my comp.

they are files on my hard drive, i can't get to them in order to be able to link them.

I think it is the files. but then, i can't get to them to delete them so...

In my internet security class I'm taking for my graduate degree, a security consultant said that jpegs are being infected with viuses. I hope that isn't the case with you, and wha Sketerpot suggested is the way to go.
