Virus trouble

Post by Peregrin Toker »

i'm using Avast! antivirus and I'm getting some warning about a file called avp32.exe (or something like that) being infected with a virus called "Win32:Trojan-gen. {other}". anyway, each time I get the virus warning, I delete the file. But the file keeps appearing again every time I delete it, through Avast! or manually.

What should I do?

You could try Bazooka Scanner or McAfee Stinger (both free downloads). You could also look up the name of the virus in McAfee or Symantec's virus database, they should have instructions on how to remove it.

It seems to have gone by now after a scan with Avast! Virus Cleaner.
