I suspect a browser spoof...

Code: Select all

Due to the recent large volume of traffic we've been recieving, we have re-built our site to use a new framework which will speed things up significantly. This new system requires that you download a plugin in order to be able to access our site. Don't worry, this plugin won't harm your computer in any way, it will only enable your browser to communicate with our server more efficiently. You cannot view our site until you've installed this plugin.

Make sure you chose 'run' when asked what you want to do with this file.

Got this on the Protest Warrior boards. Firefox suddenly started redirecting every link I click to this message, found at the following link: Don't look too long; it'll try to start the download after a few seconds whether you click or not. I'm certain that it's some type of spoof, since I could see the pages I was attempting to load flash for a second before being redirected. Now I simply get refused connections instead. Board hack, or is my browser being spoofed?
It's Rogue, not Rouge!

Okay, now I get this:
The ProtestWarrior forum is being updated with better security measures. No worries though, we will be back online in a couple of hours. -kfir

If you were recently redirected to another page and you downloaded/executed a file, check to make sure your computer wasn't compromised.
So yeah, board hack.

Yeah, phpBB released a new version that fixed a few BIG exploits.
