Soon after I reboot my computer, I now find I can't log into my yahoo account.
Every time I type in my user name and password, instead of opening into my inbox, it just changes the address to about:blank, and all these stupid antispyware adds keep on popping up.
Once it said it was because my computer does not support activeX controls, but it didn't allow me to enable it.
WTF is going on here ? (note e-mail was working soon after the reboot, but as always the computer seems to play up soon after my sister starts using it - which makes me wonder, what is she doing to it).
more problems with my computer. Help requested

Actually, trying to log into yahoo mail actually sends me to the microsoft internet explorer page. In fact my home page always defaults to this even if I change it. For some reason in the address bar it just types about : blank

Sounds like you have Microsoft Anti-spyware installed. Check to see what the heck has gone on with it.
But it is posible for some malware to lock you out of changing stuff if you ran the crap as an admin.
