Problem playing DVD's

Post by Tommy J »

Recently I've been having a problem playing DVD's. Everytime I insert a DVD into the computer it tries to launch a player, like Real Player and the movie starts and about 20 seconds later the application dies with the typical windows error message of "do you want to report this....."

I have a Sony Vaio Pentium 4 machine with the read/write DVD rom.

Mind you it will play CD's just not DVDs. Is anyone aware of a computer virus that's going around that might cause this or any other problem that might? I've also tried playing them with Windows Media player and it does the same thing.

Help is appreciated.

Download Media Player Classic. Plays damn near every video/audio file you can obtain, and easily handles DVDs.
