Or by "first edition models" do you just mean the ones produced before they started to make them all tiny and HD-less?
AFAIK The first edtion models are the ones that orginally sold for $300. My current PS2 is a 39001 (on the back of the system, above the HD bay, left of the barcode) and It works many times better than my old one (a 30001 IIRC).

I have never used a slim one.

Them being dead 200 years could be another lie from the Patriots themselves anyway. Afterall, they lied to their own man, Ocelot, why should they tell anyone else the truth?

The sum of the money for the Legacy was around $100bn in '64 US dollars (so a shit load today) and remember, Eva was a triple-agent for the PRC, playing both the US and Volgin's crew for suckers. Though Ocelot trumped even her and that's how you get the Patriots coming about in modern America along with REX, RAY and Arsenal.
Oh... right. I forgot. His "Use Arsenal as a barganing chip to become a Wiseman" plan wasn't really his true plan. He just wanted the list of names from GW. Or Raiden's nanomachines.

Exactly, so then he could put an end to their unseen tyranny. He was the president for a time afterall and knew of their hidden gov't controlling the place, hence why he disappeared and got the USN's Dead Cell unit together to help him organise his plan.
