Hearts of Iron: movement glitch?

Post by Stormbringer »

I've been playing the original Hearts of Iron, got in a bargain bin recently, and I've noticed that every now and then units will take unreasonable amounts of time to move. Like a few years to get to the next province, yet will move to another in hours or days. Is this some glitch and if so, how do I fix it?

Any help appreciated.

Is it fully patched? Original release HOI was stuffed full of bugs.

I highly recommend you purchase HOI2. It is superior to HOI in virtually every single way by leaps and bounds.

Where would I find the patch? The one I tried downloading simply screwed things up even worse.

And I would be the second one if I could find. Unfortunately I haven't been able to right now.

This contains the last update. Everything I've read is that the unpatched version is very glitchy. HOI2 is much better - even 1.0 was tolerable, 1.1 decent, 1.2 good.

Indeed, unpatched HoI is like Battlecruiser 3000. :)

What's the infrastructure of the area you're moving out of?

Doh, forgot about that. Really low infrastructure can slow down units immensely.

Just fine. The biggest problem was just it was glitchy as hell. While I've lost my saved games, it appears to be consistent and working a lot better now.
