I am probally be grabbing one of these on ebay soon, was wondering if anyone knows a list of Multi client IM programs for CE, cool programs for CE, and or wireless cards.
I have a netgear card that might work with it's Type II slot. I'm bascially getting this for chatting, websurfing.( I know it's old.) Sometimes I can't be bothered to lug my laptop around on a trip or to work.
If anyone has a site that has a decent priced palmtop with a keyboard(A model similar to this.) I'm open to suggestions.

Ahhh, someone is getting into the world of Handheld PC. It is, I think, a generally good platform, even though development and app support is becoming increasingly spotty.Laird wrote:Click me

If you are looking for recommendations about models similar to the one you've pointed out, it would be helpful to know what you think is "decent priced." The MobilePro 770/780 aren't bad machines (I have a 770, which is 37 MHz slower than the 780) and they run Windows CE 2.11 (which is lightyears ahead of anything running Windows CE 2.0.)
Other H/PC devices to consider would be the HP Jornada 680 or 690 (Running Windows CE 2.11 as well. Both are about the size of a fat checkbook, and the keyboard is just large enough to type on.)
Moving closer to modern (well, this is as close to modern as H/PCs get, since development came to an unfortunate end here) would be the NEC MobilePro 790, and the HP Jornada 720. Both of which run Windows CE 3.0 (Handheld PC 2000,) but tend to be a bit pricier than Windows CE 2.11 devices.
A) Here is what appears to be a multi-IM client for H/PC.
B) Older wireless cards like the Cisco Aironet 340 would work in that device. The PCMCIA slot is only 16-bit, so you'll not be able to use the newest cards. Here is a list of wireless cards which will work in Windows CE devices.
