Broken Wireless
My wireless card just stopped working. It won't recognize any networks in range. A hardwired ethernet cable will work (what i'm posting with now). What can I do to fix it?

Try to refresh the connection, (it should show on the control panel in network connections).
Also wi-fi doesnt transmit well through solid objects (walls, etc)

It's on, I'm about 6 inches away from the router. It won't assign me an IP address. It get the yield sign with the ! in it, telling me I have limited or low connectivity. Strong signal strength though.

Check your vendor's support site for a driver and/or firmware update for your wireless card. Something could've fucked up your driver or the card's firmware (which, given that I'm assuming this is a PCMCIA card we're talking about, is rather more likely than you might think.) Install the new driver, or reinstall the old one. If that doesn't help, then update the card's firmware. The Cleric wrote:It's on, I'm about 6 inches away from the router. Also, did you change the settings on your router? Like, changed your WEP keys, or upgraded the router's firmware to support WPA?

I can't even see the network. And I KNOW it's on and working. I have another computer on it right now.

do you have mac authentication enabled? If you do, you might now be able to see the network, which would explain this.
