Civ 4/Football Manager 2006

Post by Ubiquitous »

I just preordered these two games - anyone else looking forward to them? I'd imagine that Civ 4 would be especially popular here. Haven't been following its development but its Civ so I just have to own it.

And FM 2006, well us Brits who follow the horrible game will know just how good Champ Manager and FM are - just hope its more exciting than this years Premiership!

I'm looking forward to CivIV but I haven't preordered it yet, and I've heard a little bit about it. It sounds great from what I heard. More diverse tech trees, kickass graphics, some new feature called Great People that sounds interesting, and civilizations will have different rulers in different games and their actions will change accordingly.

One of the things I hope is resolved is the slow down that seems to plague these types of games after you have built up your empire to a reasonable size. It always seemed to be blamed on a 'memory leak' [think: BOTF] but seems to be all-pervasive in these games.

I'm actually tempted not to gt FM2006, as i don't want to put my degree at risk. They mihgt as well call it Crack For Gamers.

It's funny, but I had never heard of Football Manager until GoGamer b0rked up and sent me a copy of it instead of Space Rangers 2. I hear it's a good game though, just not my style.
