"What do you do?"

"I play games."

"What kind of games?"

"Pokemon"

"Awww so cute" or "Cool I play Pokemon too"

"Good can we get into bed and uh evolve now?"

"Sandslash, Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle [insert all cute Pokemon]"

Lol seriously I don't want to be a loser when I'm 25 and have no girlfriend and not go on dates, if Pokemon is going to give me an edge, so be it (half kidding here).

To be serious I've always wanted to go into Pokemon... can't help it when living in a house with a brother whose every other word seemed to be Pokemon related somehow... drugs, max stats, gamesharking max pokemon, and then later the online play and winning badges at a Nintendo tour to be Pokemon champion of Toronto lol... call it a sibling rivalry thing . He's done with it now, but if there's a lot of tactics and strategy involved, Pokemon could be my new "thing" come summer lol. Plus remembering the names of a few hundred Pokemon can't be that hard compared to differential equations or vector calculus, it should be a breeze now that I'm older.

Ah, Pokemon, one of the most addictive games back in the day. I was in middle school when it was in it's prime (Gold/Silver release), and so I always had the opportunity to go around school battling random amateurs and the occasional Asian kid master.

My Yellow version team was built up over many hours of work: Zapdos, Articuno (my favourite Pokemon), Mewtwo, Blastoise, Dragonite, and Mew.

However, I was much prouder of my Gold/Silver team, because I managed to form a nearly unbeatable squad without using Legendary Pokemon. It was nicely varied and it had a heavy hitter capable of taking out most Pokemon used by typical gamers (most especially against Lugia and the Rainbow bird). Dragonite, Polytoad, Arcanine, Lamparos, Tyranitar, and Espeon.

Since before you, according to our join dates. :p I remember being here when you got your ass handed to you by Wong. A pity the shipping debates were over by then, we could have all used the lessons in debating.
Wait, wait, wait. "Shipping debates"? If I remember correctly, shipping was saying which characters characters secretly liked other characters on the anime. Like Pokeshipping (Ash and Misty, I think) and Palletshipping (Ash and Gary, I think)?

I'm surprised that you would admit to debating that kind of thing. If it was me, I would want to put it as far behind me as possible, and just to make sure, kill all the witnesses.

P.S. If you're wondering how I know the terms, back when I was into pokemon, I used to hang out on a few forums (Gamefaqs and Azure Heights, mainly). The terms would sometimes crop up. I remember laughing at it even back then.

eh, that's what I like about the FRLG metagame- it's not just about the OU things- one of the worst defeats I ever endured was from someone named SYNRE using Dunsparce, Pikachu, and Clamperl, amongst other things. It was truly embarassing. Everything has its counter, and it's more about putting a team together rather than a bunch of really good pokemon, and that's why I prefer the new metagame.

...you really don't know who I am, do you? ^^;;

As President of the OPS, I was (and still am actually) the defacto leader of the PokéShippers on all the major Pokémon forums of the day (UPN, BMG, TPM) at the time of the great shipping debates between the Poké and PalletShippers. Trying to escape acknowledging that, especially with SAMAS here, would be impossible.

Getting back to the topic of the games...in every single game thusfar, I've used a Mono-bug squad to beat the game through. They're not exactly the best teams for competitive battling, but you can do some amazing things with Mono-bug in single player, and it makes for a much more challenging and interesting game.

Please tell me your mono-bug team had a Heracross. You'd almost have to survive, I'd think. :D

It had a Heracross in Silver and Crystal, but I can't remember off the top of my head if I used it in Sapphire, Emerald or Leaf Green. Probably did.
