Daemon Tools/adware question

Post by Edward Yee »

Daemon Tools v4.00 is admitted to have adware, claiming that Richard Purcell audited it to verify privacy, and allows me to uncheck the adware at installation, claiming that the inclusion was the price of keeping it free...

But should I just install an earlier version of it without the adware instead of taking the risk?

Well, you could monitor what the installer does if you don't trust their word.

I belive its clean if you uncheck the option during install. At least I havent seen any symtoms of adware and I have been runing it since release (ran the standard gauntlet of anti-spyware programs in the meantime so I'm pretty confident its clean).
