Shadowbane shutting down?

I have been hearing that they stopped allowing people to create or renew accounts with shadowbane. The game had potential, too bad they had a shitty launch and horrible followthrough.
Anybody have any confirmation? I am just getting the stories from people on other forums who still play the game.
