I give it to Link, since he's a total badass, and Tidus is a hesitant, whiny little bitch.

May the way of the Hero lead to the Triforce.
Correction, he torched the city. There's nothing to suggest he destroyed all of Terra.Darth Raptor wrote:Did you finish FFIX? Kuja uses Ultima when he flips out after learning about his expiration date. He pretty much torches all of Terra with it.lance wrote:Is their any way to compare FF10s ultima compare to FF9s Bahumat?
Bahumat was Like a small nuke, destroyed a city/town if I recall correctly, which might give some measure.
Edit: Downsized the spoiler

I say Link because at least his Villain is not an overgrown bug/whale/Daddy, u dont luv me!!!!!!!!
As for rational argument....I suppose you could make one, but I'd rather not try and realize what FF characters can and cannot do. This in an age where I can make everyone of them do everything except the most special of abilities.

One thing that deserves mention (even though it probably wouldn't have any bearing) is that Tidus (along with other Blitzball players) can hold their breath for rediculously long times even under the exertion of fighting. The only in game explanation I remember being given was an off-hand comment by a character (name I can't remember) was that "Blitzball players can hold their breath for a long time."
Wasn't Tidus floating face-down in the water when he arrived in.... shit, anyways, the island where he finds Wakka after Sin attacks the Al-bhed he was helping?

shouldn't this be under fantasy?
Link has the Zora mask or blue tunic that allows him to breathe under water. Link also has a bow and bombs.
But more importantly Link has the Ocarina of Time which allows him to travel backwards through time (Time Goddess permitting iirc) So he may be able to go back and get Tidus while he's still level 1.
He also has the giant's mask, fierce deity mask... and the bunny hood!

I'm going with Dalton's logic here.
And the whole invulnerability thing. Oh, and he has the Master Sword (+3 vs. Evil). I love the way that it never looks very special. It's just a long, sharp sword that kills things well. That's how you know it's a proper legendary blade.

In Link to the Past, Link has the 3 talismans that can pretty much destroy every enemy on the screen, or at least turn them into harmless little hopping bags of something. He could just cast one of his talismans the moment he enters the battlefield and be over with it. Or he could cast the Cane of Byrnia to protect himself, then use the ether medialion to turn Tidus into a bag, then cast quake until he is dead. It would be over before it started. With 4 blue potions and a double-length magic bar (or using 1/2 the magic per spell), link can go a long time before he runs out of magic power. There is also the milk from MM, which give him unlimited magic power for a period of time. I don't think magic is a serious issue if link has upgraded magic, 4 blue potions or 4 milks, uses the Cane of Byrnia immediately, then uses the talismans as soon and as often as possible.
And we can't forget that the Mirror Shield can repel pretty much any attack, magical or physical, the cape can make him invisble and untouchable (although he can't use any other items at the same time as the cape). The Titan's Mit can allow him to throw around large boulders, and the Golden Gauntlets allow him to lift boulders the size of a large lighthouse.

When two opposite points of view are expressed with equal intensity, the truth does not necessarily lie exactly halfway between them. It is possible for one side to be simply wrong.

I remember Ocarina of Time, in which Link is eventually capable of picking up an enormous chunk of stone that would be at least sixty feet tall. Those gauntlets were awesome.
And Dalton's right. Link's too much of a badass to loose to a man who looks like Meg Ryan.

The specifics of Ocarina based time travel are iffy. Barring an act of plot, the Ocarina is a non-factor.Jaepheth wrote:But more importantly Link has the Ocarina of Time which allows him to travel backwards through time (Time Goddess permitting iirc) So he may be able to go back and get Tidus while he's still level 1.
I'll use the Hero of Time. In terms of magic, Tidus has greater variety, but Link has Nayru's Love. If he casts that, Link will be invulnerable for 12 seconds. Tidus will have to evade Link during that time, probably casting slow and hoping it works even with the protection. Otherwise, quick spin=death.

What the fuck? Seriously, Tidus isn't even... really... alive. Not in the normal sense. How the hell can these possibly compare at all?
FFX spoiler.

"The rest of the poem plays upon that pun. On the contrary, says Catullus, although my verses are soft (molliculi ac parum pudici in line 8, reversing the play on words), they can arouse even limp old men. Should Furius and Aurelius have any remaining doubts about Catullus' virility, he offers to fuck them anally and orally to prove otherwise." - Catullus 16, Wikipedia

Spoilerized that for you.
And my own spoiler to clarify.
Yes, he's 'present'. But he's not alive; he never was. He's essentially a Summon, but without the freakin' cool intro.

Actually with a shield Link could pull a Roman trick........attack with the shield , doubt if the bucklers would help stop a shield punch to the face.
If this was the origional Link he would still kick Tidus ass. He can use his sword as a ranged weapon if at full health.

Ahem... one of theose 'dinky little bucklers' turns fire damage into hitpoints. Another did that for fire/ice/lightning.SirNitram wrote:Those dinky little bucklers are not exactly that useful in this sort of engagement.Darth Raptor wrote:*cough*

And the Mirror Shield is hefty enough to defend against rocks falling from volcanic eruptions, and causes magic hurled it's way to reflect.LadyTevar wrote:Ahem... one of theose 'dinky little bucklers' turns fire damage into hitpoints. Plus, it's frigging huge, and therefore more protective.
