Yeah, it sure does. Spybot S&D took ~15 minutes to run a scan, so I was afraid I'd missed something. Thanks.

Thanks Datana,
I tried to delete all the spyware, however there is still a flashing popup on the toolbar which say "system alert: spyware detected" or "system alert: virus detected" which then launches IE popups.

Maybe I missed something? Here is the latest scan.

After you've removed this from Safe Mode, before you restart, delete the IntCodec directory (as well as the "media-codec" directory, if it exists in Program Files). If it comes back, I may need you to submit a log from another program.

Sorry for the delayed replies. I've been very busy with work and all. I did actually try to delete that bit of spyware in safe mode but it came back in the next scan. I'm going to make time tommorow night and do what you said and post back by Sunday. Thanks for all the help Datana.

As for BitTorrent, use the Add/Remove Programs option under Control Panel to uninstall it. If it's still there afterwards, remove the entry "

Unfortunately it seems I still get a few windows popping up, namely "Party Poker" adds. It does seem to be appearing less frequently though.

Try removing the "O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winsync] C:\WINDOWS\system32\pkocay.exe reg_run" entry again from Safe Mode, and this time, delete it outright before returning to regular Windows.

Superman: What seems to be the problem? The log looks relatively clean, though I have a nagging suspicion that the multiple antivirus programs you have installed are conflicting with each other...

Spice Runner: If the error appears in the BIOS, then believe it. Hard drives are supposed to report imminent failure, though they often die before they get to sound a warning. Count yourself lucky if this is the case, and move your data ASAP. As for your log, it looks crufty, though with little real spyware. If you have the drive failure warning in Windows, though, see if you can post a screenshot.

Um...yeah so my hard drive failed today right after I posted that log.

The irony. I suppose should have paid more heed to the message when it first appeared. I'm going to have to get a new hard drive when I get the chance.

Good news, I took the computer to a friend who was able to salvage all of the information from the old hard drive and transfer it to a new hard drive. Thankfully everything is intact, unfortunately so was the junk and spyware. I ran a scan again and was able to be rid of all the junk except this:

It's Compaq junkware. Try deleting it through Knoppix.
