Need a good FREE virus scanner

Post by Stormbringer »

Well, my trial of McAfee that came with the laptop has run out and I'm looking for a free virus scan to replace it. I used to use AVG but it seems it's all pay now. So does any one know of another good one?

As far as I'm aware AVG can still be had for free. I just installed it the other day. As for another AV, try Avast!, it is free for home use, you just need to register to be sent a key for it.

Ilya Muromets: And now I have this image of a massive, stern-looking Swede staring down a bunch of military nerds. "It's a tank." "Uh, yes Sir. Please don't hurt us."

Free year of Computer Associates Antivirus 2007
I use this on my laptop and have had no problems.
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."- General Sir Charles Napier

I've got AVG. Apparently they've got a portion dedicated to the pro-version of AVG and I didn't find the free section. Since taken care of.
