I've googled the shit out of this to no avail, cause I have a TV card on this computer and can take video straight off TV, but it spits out gimongous fucking MPEG's. All I need is something that can take in MPEG (I believe it's MPEG-2 standard, honestly not sure though) and spit out an MPEG -- that isn't 250 megabytes.
Again: freeware please, that is the single tripping point in constant + / - search modifiers which stretches to the size of 2 sentences. (getting rid of $, pay, stuff in quotes, it gets stupid and it's as nigh-fruitless as my search for a DVI > MPEG compressor)

Edit: Nevermind. Use Silence's suggestion.

I've had success using this program: Click Me!
It is free, easy to use, powerful, and will accept and spit out just about any file type I know of and many I don't. Definitely recommend it.

"Do not worry, I have prepared something for just such an emergency."
"You're prepared for a giant monster made entirely of nulls stomping around Mainframe?!"
"That is correct!"
"How do you plan for that?"
"Uh... lucky guess?"

Re: Freeware MPEG Compression help
How long is the show and what is the resolution of the saved video? They both have factors in the size. An approximately 22 minute show, with outstanding quality and a great resolution is around 250mb.SPC Brungardt wrote:I've googled the shit out of this to no avail, cause I have a TV card on this computer and can take video straight off TV, but it spits out gimongous fucking MPEG's. For AVI. For mpeg, increase that by about... well, an order of magnitude. A DVD-quality mpeg is going to be about the same size as a DVD, 5 GB for 2 hours.JLTucker wrote:How long is the show and what is the resolution of the saved video? They both have factors in the size.
