Anyone remember Terra Nova Controls?

Post by Stark »

I was thinking of trying to dig up a copy of Terra Nova, since I dimly recall playing it back in the day... but I remembered that System Shock had a crazy pre-mouselook interface that *at the time* I was some kind of kung-fu master at, but now I can barely walk and shoot at the same time. Did Terra Nova use regular mouselook or the cursor-within-view thing System Shock used?

I think it was a 'cursor in your field of view shooting'. I remember something like shooting a 5 beam laser that way while on the bounce, and groaning that I couldn't aim down between my 500 meter high jumps.

You got Terra Nova working? That's what I'm interested in.

And I'm sure I could remember the controls if I played the game again.

And it was the cursor in view thing.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of: back in 1993 or whenever, I was a super ninja ultraskilled piratelord at System Shock, but if I try to play it now it just feels clunky and difficult. Ideally I'd like to play Underworld 2 again as well, but I've only played Terra Nova for like five minutes and it looked interesting.

And no, I haven't got it working, I'm still in the 'should I go get it' decision phase. :)
