Perhaps so - I don't really understand DnD's rules, so I couldn't comment. At the very least the monk ends up with this spirtual enlightenment schtick that turns him into some sort of literal demigod, and he can step betweeen dimensions.

That shit is cool. Unlike the Hulking Hurler, which is not cool but hideously broken, and instead hideously broken and fucking stupid to begin with. :D

I'm up for any class. The more different from 'ARGH! I R T3H FIGHTY!!!!' the more interesting. But when I start a game, I usually go for the class that takes the least amount of skill to play as while you're learning the ropes: Fightar!!! RAR!!! *swings swordchuks*

I tend to play Paladins or the closest version for more games. I have a thing about noble warrior types.

Barring that priest / healer types. In most games I tend to value toughness ability to take lots of damage over actually dealing damage depending on the balance of the system.

I just find it funny to have the mage unlease him bolt of untimate power (TM) at me, heal it and then go next

I play the speed/ranged types. It seems more interesting when you can fight in games while fearing for dear life at ever getting hit once.
