Maybe some one should mention to the guy PS3's are going below retail right now on eBay.

Personally, I want a PS3 over the other gaming systems, but I will not pay the price. For fps, stragegy, and online gaming I use my PC, nintendo rarely has anything that intrests me. So my game console is usually used for RPG's, driving sims, and fighting games. Sony is really pissing me off.

True, but those are both monster raising RPGs, not traditional JRPGs. My point was that Japan is DSL game land at the moment, not Legend of Disgaea XenoFantasy land.
Dragon Quest isn't a traditional JRPG now? Sure, the new one looks like it's going to be branching off in a different direction, but every other DQ game has pretty much defined what it means to be a traditional JRPG, and has been hella popular in the process.

The DQ game currently in the charts is part of a spinoff series, and is called Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker. It's basically like Pokemon/Monster Rancher.

Aside from that I'm rather interested in domestic releases of:

GTA4
Resident Evil 5
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
Makai Wars
Guilty Gear BB
Sonic the Hedgehog
Final Fantasy XIII
Ninja Gaiden: Sigma
So, you want a PS3 for four games, two of which are so far off in the future there are only announcements of their working titles.

after all, half your list are either multiplatform (or in one case a remake of an original Xbox title).

(and the new Sonic the Hedgehog is absolute shit.)

but it's a lot like the other DS "training" titles. It quizzes you on etiquette, manners and customs etc.
Forgive me, but that sounds...rather lame. Would you happen to know why these titles are so loved?

Because Japan has totally different demographic markets for games.

Also, these "training" titles might not be outright "games" in the proper sense, since there's a lot of non-gaming software released on the DS in Japan, like dictionaries, cooking guides, and such.

Play BrainAge or Big Brain Academy. I bought the latter a couple days ago, sat down with it, then kept practicing the damn tests until my neck hurt. They're what you might call "addictive."
