Using Snapstream's Firefly Remote with MPlayer

Post by Braedley »

Maybe my google-fu just isn't good enough, but I can't seem to find enough documentation for writing the proper xml file in order to take advantage of most of the Firefly buttons and the keyboard commands in MPlayer. I managed to find this tutorial, but unfortunately it isn't enough to get things working properly. As far as I can tell, either the Firefly Software isn't finding the profile, or something is wrong in my opening blocks:

Code: Select all

<Profile Type="Snapstream.Firefly.Core.Profile" Name="MPlayer" ShowOSD="False">
<Identifier ClassName="MPlayer - The Movie Player" WindowText="MPlayer" FileName="mplayer" WindowTextComparer=CaseInsensitiveContains FileNameComparer=CaseInsensitiveContains />
I am fairly certain that the rest of the file is correct, so I won't bother posting it here unless asked.

Alternatively, if someone else already has a working xml file for MPlayer, and is willing to share it, that would be great.

UPDATE: Apparently there is a small app included with the software that will let you define all this, so I have it working now in windowed mode. I just need to get it to work in full screen mode.

Nevermind all, I seem to have gotten it to work. If any one is interested, here is the xml file that works. Feel free to do some tweaking if you don't like the button layout.
