Iron Kingdoms: War and Glory

[The Nomad]

Having sent Sycorax to scout out the surroundings and warn them of any incoming hostiles, Arkady covered his mouth and nose with a handkerchief and came closer in order to get a better look at the creatures, rummaging through the library between his hears in order to identify them - and their weaknesses, if any. He would also try to gather more proof from the creatures' bodies, as well as any valuable body parts that could be sold or used to fuel magical endeavours.

"Oleg, can you determine how many of the creatures were actually on the battlefield? The commander in Tverkutsk may want an estimation, if we don't push investigations much further..."

I guess the arrows are a dead giveaway for elves, anyway... But they will be harder to track. Who knows, maybe they are spying on us right now. What's the Iosan for "stand up and fight, you pointy-eared sissies!"?

"Hmmm," said the big tracker as he shuffled around and took a look. It took a while. "I would say a score of beasts and at least a dozen elves. Could be more elves."

"Oh," Arkady commented. Well shit.

He resumed his examination of the creatures. He was specially interested in their resistance to fire and lightning, the two main elements he held command over through his own power or his mechanika staff.

He unsheathed his dagger to collect anything that he could use for spellcraft or alchemy, or perhaps use as a component to empower spells against these monsters.

"I do believe that this be just a wee bit too much risk." Guren said, examining the bullet wounds. "Even with only a dozen, give or take, and that number again elves ..." he looked at his guns, and then consulted his little list of magical abilities - nay, it wouldn't be pretty.

[Raj Ahten]

Konrad drew quick, but accurate, sketchs of the two monsters while Arkady inspected them. It was a skill he had been forced to cultivate while he had been a scout.

"Agreed Guren. As long as there are no human tracks that indicaes someone survived this massacre, we should get the hell out of here. We have the evidence needed now."

His drawings completed, Konrad kept his head on a swivel. The elves, and maybe their monsters, may have had a someone watching the battlefield. If so, Konrad sure as hell intended to spot the enemy first.

As his companions surveyed the battlefield, Arkady patiently fulfilled his fit of forensics rage, trying as hard as he could to determine which parts would serve as proof to their employer, their vulnerabilities, and what could be salvaged for his own purposes.
