XP Pro SP2 here. Internet Explorer keeps starting itself up upon Windows startup. It doesn't show up on the taskbar, but it is in the processes list in the task manager and as long as it's there it slows down my internet to a crawl. I can end the process and it's fine again, but how do I keep it from showing up in the first place?
I've already run Spybot S-D on this system and it doesn't fix the problem.

I don't think HiJackThis shows windows startup items, which would appear to be the problem.Einhander Sn0m4n wrote:Tried a Hijackthis?
Give AutoRunsa try. Look for Internet Explorer in the startup list. It could also be a program that calls IE when it starts though.
