One of my drives, an IDE Maxtor DiamondMax 10 300GB drive, developed some issues today, when I wasn't home. Some corrupted files, etc.
I let it run checkdisks on everything, and now most of the partitions are fine, but one 100GB area shows up as "Unformatted Partition". Anything I can do to get it back, or is it a loss?

In the future, if you suspect that your hard drive is having hardware issues, you generally don't want to run a checkdisk program as it will not only not do anything to resolve your hardware issue, but possibly aggravate the issue to the point of failure.
