I've got a problem with a program called VideoImpression2 that I installed on my PC. It came bundled with a digital camera I got as a present by Cobra Digital called the DC8000. Now I'm pretty sure I installed the drivers correctly for the camera since it impressions can read it as an input. Now when I want to use the camera for live recording, direct from camera to PC, i can't set it to use the cameras mic, I have to use my pc mic. Not a problem. However, whenever I try to use the mic for audio, whilst doing a live feed, the program goes into windows and mutes the mic. Now I can narrate (ie, record audio separately within the program) but not at the same time as doing video. Any thoughts?

If there is one thing that pisses me off more than shitty software, is shitty software that doesn't have decent support. If you fuck up on the initial creation of your product, fine. I can deal with that. Keep patching it till the bitch works. But if you make a shitty products and lo and fucking behold, YOU NEVER FUCKING FIX IT, you and your fellow developers should be shot but not killed. O no just shot, than pissed on by drunk homelss people, rape by Bubba, then bubbas dog, and chased naked down a street of super fundies (still alive ehre), then crucified (near death but not quite). Then once your ordeal is over and you think you can go home you're about to cross the street, your family on the other side, and as you cross, you're hit by a bus.
I say this first off because #1 the produc I have sucks. As mentioned above, it's video impression 2. Now I'd used any other software, believe me, but the fucker is the only thing that works with my camera a crappy Cobra Digical DC8000 (I'm assuming DC stands for Digital Camera). Now I'm not gonna rip on cobra just yet. They've only just released the camera, their a small company, and have support for their other products. The only thing is is that the drivers on the camera allow it to be recognized by video impressions, but EVERY OTHER PROGRAM (even windowns) doesn't seem to detect it. Now I might have installed the drivers incorrectly, but I assume something must have been done right since video impressions still notices it.
Anyhoo back to ArcSoft. First, they have no updates for Video Impressions 2. I've never seen software so fucking amazing that it needs neither update nor patch. Ever. Second, I'd have to pay for support because I got it bundled. Now I know lots of companies do this, but fuck me is that dumb. First off, I'm going to pay you to help me with the product you fucked up? I'm going to pay you to fix something you sold me as defective?
Third. Their support forums are lousy. Come on. It's 2007/8. Fuck, you can pay SOMEBODY or just tell a fucking grunt to spend or an hour or so browsing a forum and answering questions. With the quality of software you sell, I'm sure they have the time on their hands.
