They're not really that forced and actually make sense to a degree, since the Phantoms are too powerful to overcome until you get the Phantom Sword. Then they're ridiculously easy to defeat.

The complaint wasn't "it's hard"; it was "it's unpleasant". It wouldn't have been so bad as a one-off dungeon, but the fact that you had to keep returning to the place made it more obnoxious each time.

There was a bit of brilliance in how they did the stealth portion of Twilight Princess: Yeah, you could sneak around if you wanted. Of course, you could also just burn the whole stupid place to the ground.

I never really had that problem since there was new stuff to do every time you had to go back.

From the way everyone's avoiding mentioning it I'm guessing Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland still hasn't made it to the states, but if you're the type to import games I highly recommend you get it. Yes, yes, I know Tingle's a walking affront to decency that drives sane, rational men to murder but the game is a really good (if camp) parody of the entire zelda series (and the rampant commercialism surrounding games/anime in general).

It's gotten a European release, so you can buy it in English if you really want it that badly.

Grandmaster Jogurt wrote:Word of warning for Phantom Hourglass. There is one dungeon that you need to enter multiple times in order to progress the plot. It's timed, there are invincible enemies you have to sneak around in every room, and you have to redo the areas you cleared in previous incursions every time you come back. The rest of the game is great, basically Wind Waker with easier ship controls, but I disliked that dungeon so much that at one point, when I realised I had to go back to it, I turned off the DS and never played the game again.
I don't mind the sneaking, but I hated having to do it over and over again. Several times I held off from playing the game for a few days because I knew I'd be doing that stupid temple again.

Still, at least there was no Tingle.

And that was the only negative point to the game IMO.

Not necessarily. I thought the one in Metroid: Zero Mission was very well done.
