Office '07
My employer struck a deal with Microsoft to allow us to purchase Office '07 for 20$. Right now I've been making use of open office and a copy of office '03 that I've had for a bit.
Is there any substantial change that would warrant an upgrade?

Every major useful feature is implemented as a button along the ribbon instead of having to memorize a shitload of formulas or dig through endless menus and makes things vastly easier. It is well worth the upgrade.

How complex do you mean? I don't think anyone I work with does much beyond simple arithmetic, but I don't actually know how crazy-go-nuts you can get with Excel.phongn wrote:I use O2K7 frequently - but the one annoying issue is that if you have complex Excel charts, they take forever to render.

I've only noticed lag when spreadsheets get upwards of 50-100mb+ for sheets with thousands of lines of data and macros galore. Most of the sheets I've dealt with rarely go above 50mb though, so it's normally not an issue.phongn wrote:Try generating an X-Y line graph with hundreds or thousands of data points, and feel the pain.Stark wrote:How complex do you mean? Re: Office '07
We have it at the office. I have Lotus Symphony installed on the PC I don't use so I can avoid it as much as possible.Zed Snardbody wrote:My employer struck a deal with Microsoft to allow us to purchase Office '07 for 20$.
