Just to get this straight Alyrium, are you saying that you would have no problem with the murder of people who hunt whales?[/quote]

I have no problem with sinking and scuttling boats in port, forced boarding, and I like the idea of at least threatening them with naval actions. Perhaps I speak in hyperbole when I say "sink their ships with torps" But I have no problem with the use of force.

Why would force even be used ?

If goverments take interest they will just slap a legal ban on killing whales. As for eco pirates if they are serious about this. they will need planeeter rings to summon Captain planet.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Because Bans are soft-law. If Japan, Norway or other whaling nations dont like the ban they can just withdraw from the IWC, or ignore the ban. The UN can barely be persuaded to stop genocide in Africa, and even when they can be they either A) impose asinine ROE such that UN troops are ineffective or B) Allow for the exclusive use of AU troops, who are almost as bad as those committing the genocide.

So forgive me if I am not optimistic about the actions of governments to stop whaling.

Not to mention they seem to be self aware, and i believe so far only a few apes and whales have given signs of being self aware, as per the mirror test.

Don't we still do experiments upon chimps even though they're self-aware?

Just how many sentient creatures do we exploit, anyways?

We do, though at least NOW they are not likely to cause the chimps much harm. later stage clinical trials from what I remember.

And we exploit most self aware organisms
