Is there anyway to recover Firefox history(Random issue)

Post by Mr Bean »

So anyway after a hard crash yesterday it seems that Firefox has forgotten all my bookmarks and has no history for some unknow reason, I have an old backup bookmark exported, but is there any place Firefox saves settings I might be able to re-import from?

In Windows: [drive]:\documents and settings\[user]\application data\mozilla\firefox\profiles\[profile].

[profile] is a random string of numbers and letters; also, enable "show hidden fiules and folders" in your Explorer settings.. Your history might be lost, but all your other user info will still be there. Start FF with the -profilemanager option to restore your old profile or copy it over manually.

That did the trick quite well, now I'll be sure to write that down as a handy trick.
