Sony's Perceived Idiocy.

If I had a choice between two consoles at the moment I'd choose the XBox-360, but I heard misgivinings about it's quality and it supposedly breaks down as much as the slimline PS2 (but I heard newer 360s are better), plus it is Microsoft (a company more traditionally seen as highly dubious).

Honestly, the first batches or so were somewhat hit or miss. I bought one a couple months after my friend did (I think he got his right after launch) and he's had to ship his back once whereas I've had mine the entire time with no problems. The rrod issue is/was supposedly already hammered out, especially with the new chipsets and whatnot.

Yeah, even the non-Elites use the new hardware these days (so long as you get a new one anyway) and they're apparently much more stable and quiet. I was also a person who leaned towards the PS3 for various reasons, but after E3... well.
